History of the Ondo State Chapter of DFN

The DFN Ondo state was inaugurated by imam prof. Taofik Abdul-Azeez sometimes in 2001 in Akure, the Ondo State Capital. Before its inauguration, the activities of  the society had been on ground, though with another name (Al-Furqaan), in Ondo and Ekiti states in general and Akure in particular for about one and a half decades. However, the name “DFN” was adopted immediately after its inauguration. The venue of the weekly azkhar programme has always being the Erekesan Mosque, close to Deji of Akure palace. Presently, the Ondo State Chapter of DFN includes the Ekiti State.

The Chapter Excos from inception

 The first Coordinator was Prof.  M.A.K. Smith (Former Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies, Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) and first Muslim to become a Professor in FUTA); Prof. Smith was succeeded by Prof. A.Y.B. Anifowose (The current H.O.D Remote Sensing and  Geological information Sciences, FUTA), Alh. Abdul-Raheem Oke (a retired civil servant from the Federal office of Statistics) took over from Prof. A.Y.B. Anifowose. The current coordinator is Dr. K.A.N. Adiat (Senior Lecturer at the Department of Applied Geophysics, FUTA).

The first Missioner was Alh. Abdullah Okeji (a civil servant with the Ekiti State Government). The current Missioner, Alh. Musibaudeen O. Yusuf, (a secondary school teacher with the Ondo State Government) took over from Alh. Abdullah Okeji. Presently, the Mission Board members are as follows: Dr Adiat, K.A.N., Arc. Zikrullah  (Lecturer at the Architecture Department, FUTA), Br Abdul-Hafeez Musptapha, Brs Abdul-Rofii Solii, Br Abudl –Hafeez Bakare and Br Uthman  Zakariya.  

The other present members of the Chapter Excos are: Dr T.T.Yusuf (Senior Lecturer at the Mathematics Department, FUTA), Br Abdul Ganiyy Lukman (Financial Secretary); Br Tajudeen Bakry is the youth amir.  Mrs. Hasana Yusuf  is the amirat while Mrs Toyyibat Adiat is the Naibatul Amira
